fuel line question

I have an 86 mercury outboard on a small runabout. I decided it would be good maintenance to replace the fuel tank and hoses since some hoses were starting to crack. Bought a tank and a 3/8 ID fuel line assembly. Tried to install it today and realized I forgot about the oil injector. No problem right? Just need to by some more fuel line. Well, it was at this point I realized the boat is set up with 1/4 ID line. The fittings on the oil injector are 1/4 ID and don’t appear to be replaceable. I checked the west marine catalog and it seems like every mercury fitting they have is for a 3/8 line. Furthermore, they don’t even have 1/4 line listed in the catalog.

So here are the questions: Is there anyway to set this up with 3/8 line? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with the fittings on the oil injector? Is there a way to step down the diameter for the oil injector only? Would that cause any problems?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Re: fuel line question

You could probably get 1/4" fuel line at Oreilly's or any other parts store.

Re: fuel line question

Another question: What is the difference between A1 and B2 hose? Can I use A1 on an outboard or is it supposed to be used strictly below deck out of the sun?
