Hi All,

I just picked up a deal on a 9.9 Evinrude,The model number is 10424S I understand that it is a 10 Horse 1974 and the S meaning short.

My best guess that it runs a 50;1 mix.

This my first Evinrude product.

50 to 1 ratio using TCW-3 rated 2 stroke oil and you will not go wrong.

Re: fuel mix ratio.

Thanks EH!

I am running a TCW3 oil,I drained the mix from my Merc tank.Go figure Merc oil and 91 octane going in to a Evinrude.I might get my knuckles rapped for Merc oil in a Evinrude. It is fresh 50;1 mix.

The points I will have to buy a set and dig deep in my melon and remember how to do them.I think they are set at.020, I like to have a spare set of plugs,.I think the plugs are, standard Electrode L77JC4 Surface Gap L78V,are these still available.I should look for a manual this motor

Save youself a few bucks. You do not need 91 octane. 87 is just fine.

91 can create unwanted deposits.

No issue with the merc oil but an issue with the 91 octane. Your motor will run like a champ on 87 octane and save money in the process.
A manual is a must in my opinion.
Champion plugs only in my opinion.
