Fuel mixture 1985 Evinrude 6 hp

I just bought a 1985 Evinrude 6 hp. The motor says the fuel mixture should be 100:1. My local dealer says I should use 50:1. Does 50:1 sound about right?

Yup. 50:1 is just right. Use only TCW-3 rated ouboard oil and you'll be fine. 1 pint per 6 gal. of 87 octane gasoline.<br /><br />OMC changed the spec on all those 100:1 outboards some years ago. I guess they couldn't put new decals on them, though.
