Fuel mixture ratio 1964-1965 20HP

I was recently given a 20HP Sea King, Model vwb-19084, serial #11219. I have do some research and it appears this motor is either a 1964 or 1965 Chrysler. Can anyone help me with the fuel ratio. I was able to get it running strong but it seems to put out more smokethan I expected.
