Yes! Went from 2.76 a gallon to 3.07 in just a week! News says it will keep going up a couple cents every day or two from now until after the holidays.
I'm not driving anywhere this holiday season!

Here it went from $2.57 to $3.15 in less than two months. It was at over $3.00 a year ago.

Fluctuations are to be expected, I guess but I still think we're being taken advantage of. The biggest issue is the capacity to refine.

Yes. One of the disadvantages of living where I do is that I have to drive 20 miles to get groceries.

I don't spend any more on gas than I used to, I just drive a lot less.

I drive a company vehicle.....makes it a lot easier to pay these prices for gas for the boat and truck, which usually is driven only on weekends....$3.35 in Fresno Ca today.

I do too. However, filling up the boat (12 gallons) gets to be a pain in the old wallet. I'm glad I'm not running a 200 HP engine.

No pinch. In the overall scheme of things 10, 20 even 50 cents a gallon just is'nt that much.
Even if it shot up a dollar a gallon that's only about $10 a week for me. So I skip one trip to McD's a week. My waistline will thank me.

Re: fuel pinch?

How could we not?

Don't know if other's have noticed, but it seems to me that the price of nearly EVERYTHING, has gone up, recently. $1.25 sodas are now $1.49, for instance

High petroleum prices and the Ethanol scam, have screw up nearly everything.

I just paid nearly $300 for shock absorbers and struts for my 10 year old truck (parts only).

No end in sight to the fun :(

Saw in the news refineries are running at about 87% capacity

$2.99 to $3.05 here in Alabama. My father has been running Bio diesel in his tractor for about 2 months now, he got into processing that by getting the idea from another man. Diesel is running about $3.35 to $3.40 per gallon. Being that my 2006 F-150 only get 15 miles per Gallon and our gas pump wont allow a single transaction on a debit card past $50 dollars, (witch I don't bother doing a second transaction to fill it). I don't get out to much do to the outrageous price in gas. It's ridiculous, I know the cost of living is different state to state but we all are biting the bullet when we half to fill up the gas tank. And we are supposed to bend over and take it. I agree that we need to shut down all tranportation vehicles for a day or two and see how they like it, let them bend over and take it.

The capacity issue is worldwide. If we stop buying fuel, for a day, China will buy it. We're stuck.

It's simple economics. Demand = price.

I have drain bramage going here, what does the new Chevy SUV run on? It's not a Hybrid. I can't remember if it's one of those that runs on H20 or not.

Re: fuel pinch?

Being retired on disability, means I'm living on a fixed income, Not working means, I can't just go put in for overtime, nor can I go to work part time, or full time, on any type of job, or risk losing disability, and not only is the price of gas on a daily rollercoaster ("cough, cough" Gouging) really S**k! But everything else is going up in direct relation to this (fuel oil, propane) trucking, you name it, it Bites Big Time! I moved to Pa. to live cheaply, but that idea is slowly, or quickly, going down the tubes! This all at a time in my life that I'm helpless, and can't do anything about it!

Re: fuel pinch?

It's gas, just like everything else. If you want an SUV hybrid, go to the Ford Escape/Mariner. Proven track record since 2003. Good luck finding one.

All hybrids are gas/electric at this point.

My Merc. Grand Marquis gets an honest 24 MPG highway at 75 MPH+. It gets an honest 20, in city. I like the V-8 power and smoothness plus the fuel sipping under cruise. Best car on the road, IMHO. Five Star crash rating and body on frame. If it's good enough for the cops and taxi, it's good enough for me.

Built in Canada but the profits go to Detroit, USA.

Good for you!!!:) Sounds like a good car.

As far as gas prices when it goes over 3 a gallon I just have to stay home more. I live in the country and still have to drive to get grocery's and stuff. But, I try to do all of that once a month in one big trip. I do some get some gas from my employer.
