Fuel primer ball.

I have a question for ya'll.. On my boat I have a built in gas tank.. and the hole in which the fuel line comes out is out of the side

My question is my primer ball comes out that hole and down into my transom "cavity" which always has water underway in it. It doesn't seem safe that the fuel line floats in this water... if it ever got a hole in the line it would suck water and thats not good.. But lookin on there there isn't much place to run this fuel line without punching holes in the boat which i would like to try to stay away from...

If I haven't painted a clear picture maybe this weekend I can post some pictures...

Has anyone had this "problem"? And how did you set it up to where it stays out of the water..

I would fix this problem by correcting the issue of how water is getting into the boat. And if the fuel line had a hole in it the engine would abruptly die but would not have injested enough water to bother anything.

I assume he's just having some water splash into the motor pod. Not ideal I guess, but it happens to me from time to time, especially when pulling a tube.

My motor pod is open in the lower rear. An opening about 2 in. high full width. Obviously there is water in there while at rest. I never checked to see if most of it runs out underway or not. Water in motor pod should not be a problem for you.

What if you secured the line along the upper edges with some ziptie adhesive backed anchor pads and zip ties?

I don't much see how the primer bulb floating in that water would hurt anything, keeps your primer bulb nice and clean! My primer bulb gets wet from spray all the time, no big deal!

Yea, I have never really paid attention while the boat was moving.. but at rest the water sloshes in there...

will have to update with pictures this weekend.. just didn't know if anyone had a problem with this before.

"Toon Motor Pod" water is quite normal. I would not worry about the fuel line. I would just keep any connections out of the potential water bath.

Maybe you should shorten the fuel line so it doesn't get wet or water proof the line.
