fuel primer

hello all,today i took my 13 trackerw/84 johnson sea hores 35hp.would not stay running at ramp.so i jumped it into gear went about i mile i shut it off and fished a little.while fishing i would pull rope and it would run for about 20 sec.i noticed water comming out of reed plate and exaust and runs fine with out cover off but real fast.i just pulled carb apart and going to rebuild it.how long should i soak the carb?i also pulled the plate and going to put new gaskets on them do i use any sealent on these?and the last ? is while removing the carb i pulled the fuel line off the primer and the plastic fitting broke off in the line.do they sell just the part i broke or do i have to but a new primer(manual primer)?and how much are they?thank you

Soak overnight if you are going to soak it. If your carb is all aluminum then you are okay. If they are plastic or coated carbs then use carb spray and air to clean. You will probably have to buy a new primer. You should not have to use any sealant with your carb kits. You really need to buy an OEM manual. Do a search on this site or get one off ebay.

i have a manual but somtimes its best to ask the x perts.thank you for the help.it is now soaking.i did not look bad but what the he$$.o yea they did have the primer part for just under 10 bucks.the whole primer was 57.00.i am glad they had the part i needed.thank you for the help
