fuel problem 90hp nissan

just bought whaler with 1991 nissan 90hp. i have removed old fuel, cleaned tank, installed raycor fuel filter, removed and cleaned carbs, and changed inline filter. It ran great for for an hour. The next week it started fine, than died. it would only run as long as i kept pumping the primer bulb. i removed and cleaned fuel pump (It looked great) and still will not run unless i keep pumping bulb. oh did i say that the wife thought this hole boat thing was a bad idea? need help!!! thanks, old hatt 1967

I had a 87 Yamaha 70hp with very similar issues. I replaced the fuel pump and that solved my problem.

Chances are you still have a fuel system problem, however, there is no substitute for correctly troubleshooting the engine's systems. For that you will need a factory service manual which is available from any Nissan or Tohatsu dealer.
