fuel problem

I think I have a fule problem with my yamaha 250 saltwater series. It had been sitting for a while an after fueling it up it seems to run rough and has a hard time running at wot. It seems to run fine at about half throttle. I would like to know if there is anyway to drain the gas tank.

Not usually. We typically have to remove the fuel pick-up from the tank, crank the trailer tongue jack to make the opening downhill, then syphon.

How old is your motor.<br />I thought the same thing about my fuel.<br />I have a 1999 Saltwater series II and the carbs needed rebuilding, assuming you have carbs.<br />I runs great now.<br /><br />When I changed my water seperators the problem seemed to get better, but it was ultimately my carbs.<br /><br />Michael

how about a simple solution. Try ring -free or some prduct to absorb water from your fuel (water-absorb.

no carbs on this one. It is fuel injected. It feels as though she wants to take off then bogs down then does it again..Kind of surging up and down. Almost like one minute she is getting fuel then the next nothing..

Disconnect the fuel line from the motor and squeeze the bulb until fuel starts siphoning. Rodbolt has posted many times the procedure for servicing for this type problem.
