Fuel pump, ethanol, teflon tape

I took a break from stripping the hull of the holiday this weekend. We wanted to hit the water for some bass in the Cajun but had to take care of the fuel pump issue on the 1995 88 spl. Classic symptoms. Primer bulb would not pump up. Would not run at throttle without pumping the bulb. Poor idle/performance. After removing the pump and dissembling I found the following. In addition to being worn out in general.

Diaphragm spring out of place


Deteriorated valve, assuming from ethanol

Teflon tape in the filter. Some has been broken down by the ethanol.






New fuel line with ethanol resistant liner.



The motor sure runs fine now.

P.S. didn't catch any bass.
