We took the boat out today. Pulled off trailer, crunk great, ran great. Ran 10 minutes down river to meet the rest of the party. Shut down, sat for 10 minutes. Got ready to ride. Crunk up ran for maybe 5 seconds went dead and hasn’t hit again. Had to get towed in. I have noticed now that when I turn the key on I am not hearing the fuel pump kick on and build up. Do electric pumps go bad that suddenly or should I be looking for wire/fuse problems. I haven’t started checking anything yet, so don’t know much yet to tell.

Electrical things tend to work perfectly, then stop perfectly. So yes, the fuel pump could have just quit. But let's do some proper troubleshooting and diagnostics before we jump to any conclusions. It's like if you start sneezing, yes it could be Bubonic plague, but it's more likely a cold....

When you turn the key to ON, do you get the beeps? Do all the instruments come on? Have you got, and checked, a 'deadman switch'/safety switch/kill switch (has many names, does the same thing, trip it and the ignition circuit, including the fuel pump, dies)? Have you checked the 3 blade fuses on the engine, and the glass fuse behind the dash?

Chris......

I had to Google ‘crunk’ as I am not familiar with that word. :D

“crunk

noun
a type of hip-hop music characterized by repeated shouted catchphrases and elements typical of electronic dance music, such as prominent bass.”

achris, I haven’t started anything yet. The kill switch is in the run position, I did check that on the water. All gauges/beeps and everything else work properly best I can tell. Haven’t noticed anything odd except that I don’t hear the pump priming up when I turn the key to the run position as I always have in the past. Plan as of now is to use test light to check for power going to the pump, and check fuses. Sound like a plan to y’all?
