fuel pump issue

I have a 140 4 cyl. I just rebuilt the entire floor and stringers so I had the tank out. the engine cranks but no gas to the carb, and no gas at the intake hose from the tank. I think this fitting from the tank has a special fiting cause I tried to siphon the tank from that line and I could get any suction. I'm wondering if I should remove that fitting?

If someone could help, I appreciate it.

Re: fuel pump issue

sounds like its the ANTI SYPHON valve.

DONT REMOVE IT it USCG approved equipment and is a safety item you need on board.

IF you need to syphon gas just remove the fill hose completly from the tank in insert a syphon hose in the opening.

Re: fuel pump issue

check the anti-syphon valve and the screen at the bottom of the fuel pickup tube, its in the tank just unscrew it and pull see whats on the screen also check your vent make sure its clear good luck post your results;there is a screen in the fuel pump no need to remove it from the engine just undo the top and clean the filter and one in the fitting at the carb clean that one as well.
