fuel pump kit?

I just got the fuel pump kit for my 1968 merc 60 6hp. The kit had an extra gasket that was not on the original pump and it's not shown on the diagram. Is this kit for several different pumps that may require it, or do i just not know how to install it? I just installed the one gasket and the diaphragm, is this correct? It's how it was when i disassembled the pump.

If every thing you removed was replaced, don't worry about it...lots of kits have extra stuff that might be needed on other motors

I suggest that you go to Mercury Parts Express website http://www.mercurypartsexpress.com and take a look at the fuel pump parts diagram for your motor. The parts diagram will show you exactly what parts are needed for your fuel pump. And yes, I guess there may be extra parts in your kit but I don't know enough to say how likely this is.​

parts express doesn't take old numbers. try this, i think its your motor
