Re: fuel pump lobe on camshaft spinns freely...Help!
I have two marine 302`s, one has the 2 pc exentric the other doesn`t.
The trick can be that when installing the pump on a Ford with the lever straight or facing up through the hole in the block that the lever slips over the exentric in stead of under it, this can happen! If you install the pump tilted with the lever facing down, spooning it up wise the lever end under the exentric as it should be.
Then..... the first pump failed, and the new one installed wrong?? It can be but there might be something broken that coused the first pump to stop workin.
You can give it a try before tearing down the shain cover housing.
