I am looking for a small used outboard. I have seen some engines (Evinrude/Johnson) where the fuel pump is mounted at the top of the block and others that are mounted at the bottom of the block. It looks like there is a plate on both the top and bottom cylinder where the fuel pump can be mounted. What is the difference, top or bottom cylinder.
JT

Re: fuel pump location

Thanks for your feedback. On most of the (older 70s 80s 10 - 25hp) motors I have been looking at and am used to working on, the fuel like comes into the cowling, through the bowl, under the carberator to the fuel pump (on the right side of motor *** you are standing behind motor)then back into the carb. the pump is mounted into the side of the block and runs off engine compression.
JT
