Has anyone tried universal electric adjustable fuel pumps? Mine is whining. Are they an option?

No. As much of a temptation to do so, you would violate the law and put you and others in danger. ( Really ). You can pull them apart and clean the high and low pressure screens. I have replaced the high pressure pump on mine. Not sure if you can find a low pressure pump however. Gas leaks on boats are deadly and not to be taken lightly. I almost lost my best friend to a boat fire. That is why Volvo designed their fuel system this way. Dave-R

What year and motor are you talking about?
Low pressure pumps are not available by themselves. You need to buy both. High side is available by itself.

It's a 99. I didn't realize a retrofit was dangerous. I do understand you DEFINATLY don't wsnt a fuel leak.ill disassemble and clean it out this weekend.
