Hi guys, i have a 1990 Yamaha outboard, 90 HP, i'm installing a new fuel pump on it and don't know if the only two screws that hold it to the block are suppost to be torqued?? If yes, what would be the torque spec?? Thanks!!

Just snug it down good and tight, there's a gasket back there that compresses and seals the port.

Yea but those two screws go through the actual pump and tighten's it up aswell and i don't want to overtighten it. I started tighting it yesterday and it feels like i could keep on and on, i would rather torque it to specs just to clear my mind.

When you keep turning those screws you're compressing that gasket. I'm not sure what the torque specs are on those screws, if there are any. Just good and snug. I just put a new fuel pump on my 90HP and that's what I did.

Well, you got me thinking about it and I checked the Yamaha Manual and it says,"evenly and securely tighten the mounting screws", so that's kinda like "good and snug". It's not going to be a problem for you. Good Luck!
