All,
Diagnosed the fuel sending unit as bad. Any tips (other than "be careful" "take your time") on swapping the old and new one out?

Thanks,
Rob

This is a job that does not fall into the rocket science category. Disconnect the positive cables on the battery. No sparks allowed during this project. And just so you've been warned -- no smoking either. Undo the old unit, replace the gasket and install the new one.

I'll be on my back, upside down, third arm pinned behind my back, and squinting out of one eye trying to get a 24 inch float out of a 1 inch opening...

Little bit of a pain but not difficult to do. Make sure the surface of the tank is clean before you put on the new washer/gasket and sender unit otherwise you will be down there again...don't ask me how I know! Soapy water will show bubbles if its leaking.

And don't use a lighter for additional lighting in the bilge either! LOL There are a lot of ways to get yourself into orbit around this planet....blowing up a boat is not one I reccomend!
