fuel switch wiring problem

Engines dies periodically. When i wiggle the wiring to/from the fuel switch that has the purple/yellow wire, the engine stops or it runs continously. If i jump the wires, with the ignition on start position, same thing- if you wiggle the wiring, electric fuel pump runs or it stops.

does this mean i have to replace the harness, which is a big big job because of tight room to work? Or could it be the wiring to the alternator? how about the switch or sender assembly?

thanks.

Re: fuel switch wiring problem

Could be nothing more than loose or corroded terminals, all you need is new ends on the wires, not a complete new harness.
As far as the sender itself, sure it could be bad, yes if the terminals in the switch are loose. If they are not loose, I doubt wiggling the wires would do anything.

Thank you. Will check every terminal for corrosion and also possibly replace the switch and sender to be sure.
