What motor? Is it running while this is happening, or only while you're priming it?

Re: fuel system question

Sounds like you must have a restriction between the tank and the bulb inlet that isn't there on your small tank. I would look at any fittings, intake screen etc. You could blow compressed air back to the tank from the bulb connection but that will not clean the obstruction, it may well just move it and you'll pick it up again another day. Also look to see if you have an in-line gas filter. If you do blow through it and see if it is restricted. You might want to replace your rubber lines at the same time if they are old. Best of luck. Rick.

Re: Primer Bulb Collapses

...my primer ball stays squeezed...

I interpret this to mean the primer bulb collapses. If the primer bulb collapses, there is an obstruction in the fuel line upstream from the primer bulb.

For more information on how a primer bulb works and how to use a primer bulb as a diagnostic indicator, see

Re: Primer Bulb Collapses

If the bulb is sucking flat the restriction is upstream of the bulb. If the vent is open the most common place to look would be the anti-siphon valve. Especially if you've been using ethanol fuel.

Re: fuel system question

Hello to you, When you put the new fuel line is the arrow on the side of the bulb pointing toward the motor? If not it needs to be. Also, if that is not the problem remove the top of the tank fitting form the gas tank and check to make sure the siphon tube screen is clear and the tube itself clear and there is no trash inside of it. Also, make sure your fule bulb pumps up firmly. Let us know what you find out, Bob
