fuel tank size is ??

HI everyone! A friend of mine has a 1990 Bayliner Capri with 4.3 litre V-6 I/O on it. He needs to buy a new tank because it leaks, but he does not know the size. He says he needs to remove the tank so he knows what size tank he needs. i was wondering if anyone could tell me or knows the size tank it has. that way he can buy it and we can remove and replace at the same time.

I tried looking for factory specs, no luck.

He needs to take out the old one first to see what shape it is, just knowing how much it holds doesn't help much.

I just went through a tank replacement and I am in total agreement with the above post. You never know what you are going to run into removing the tank. I had to do some cutting and fiberglass work to do the job.

I don't know about the Bayliner but most boat builders buy their tanks. There is a data plate right near the tank opening for the sending unit. This data plate will give you who made it, model # and capacity.
