Fuel tank swell

I'm getting new moeller permanent fuel tank. I read that they will swell 2-3% on all sides. My question is, can I fill it with gas before I install it. Let it swell then empty all the gas out. Because, once installed under my deck I won't be able to readjust the hold downs.
Thanks,
Tom

I think the swell is the gas in the tank pushing on the sides. No gas, no swell. Just install the tank, you'll be fine.

It is no a permanent swell, each time you fill it, the sides will swell a small amount, each time you empty by running it will contract, this is not unusual, it happens in our car tanks as well, just install the tank and you will be fine.

The swelling is due to the Gasoline soaking into the plastic of the tank. See Item #4.
The Mounting Camps should allow for continued expansion and contracting.
If the compartment the tank is in has no clearance, the tanks will attempt to push the bulkheads out!
