Re: Fuel tank

Go buy yourself a fuel bulb, like you'd use to prime an outboard, and some fuel tubing. Or you can go with the mouth full of gass routine if you like... :D

Re: Fuel tank

I saw an excellent tool for this, we used to use it for kerosene..

its a small thing that goes on one end of the hose, it has a marbal in it..

you put it in the tank and jiggle it up and down, the marbal traps fuel in the hose, but doens't let it get out.. and once its flowing, (usually after 5 or 10 jiggles) the fuel flows without rescrictions..

we found it in a hardware store...

rgds

Frank

If you are scrapping the old tank....use a screwdriver and puncture the old tank.

Bob

Re: Fuel tank

You can create your own check valve with a siphon hose. It's a bit of a trick. I done it several times to keep from getting a mouth full of gasoline (not very tasteful  ) First one way is to cram all the hose you can into the tank below the fuel level in the tank. Hold your thumb over the end of the hose to create an airtight seal and pull the hose back out of the tank far enough to leave just the other end submerged in the fuel. Make sure the end of the hose you pulled out is lower than the fuel tank elevation and remove your thumb. Another way is to take the hose and fill it with fuel or whatever, Water will work if you are junking the tank. Just hold both ends of the hose up at the same elvevation and fill it with whatever. Hold your thumb over one end of the hose and quickly run the other end of the hose into the tank. I'd try to keep the end of the hose that your holding as low as possible while you are doing this. Once the hose is in the fuel tank let go with the thumb. It should work.

Good luck :)
