I changed my Fuel water separator filter on my 2006 mercruiser 350 mag inboard gen III. I lost all fuel pressure after the replacement and boat will not start. Please help.

Re: Fuel ware separator

Welcome to IBOATS.

When replacing my water separating fuel filter I like to take some new fuel and pre-fill the new filter about 3/4 full.
Still take a few seconds when first starting, might stumble a time but then starts up.

Just have to be careful about any spillage if trying this.

Re: Fuel ware separator

Your vacuum locked. Break the fuel line somewhere after filter to let the trapped air escape.

In the future, let the motor run a bit before you change the filter to fill the float bowl or pressurize the fuel injection system. Change filter, start motor and be on your way. No messing around trying to fill a filter with dangerous gasoline.
