Have an 86 40hp yamaha..Nice motor owned it for 7 years..always used in salt..lower unit came off
like a charm with only 1 stubborn bolt! I usually
fish in the summer time for salmon..but this year the crab fishing has been excellent..I have been
having problems with water in my portable tanks :(
has any one ever installed a racor on a small outboard? It would sure save me alot of grief!
thanks for any info! Mike

c-ya
Piece of cake to install. Might take you 1/2 hour or so. Pretty much self explanatory with good instructions. A must have on your outboard. You can buy one on this site at the link below. The only other thing you will need is some barbed fittings (2) for the fuel line to hook to, which you can get at any auto parts store along with some teflon tape to seal the threads.

Filter

Install it, these are the best insurance you can buy. Have to change the filter at least once per year, but it is easy if you mount it in an accessable location.

Use Loctite to seal the threads instead of teflon tape !! :)

It's a good idea to have one. You can also find the barbed fittings you need at a hardware store for a better price. I payed $3 for everything I needed.

Dutch
