I have a outboard 1990 force motor and want to install a water/fuel separator. First, I have 2 inlet arrows and 2 outlet arrows at the top of the bracket. Do I use the both inlet and outlet arrows directly across from each other or do I stagger them? Secondly, do install the filter before or after the primer bulb. And lastly, do I remove the inline fuel filter? Newbie here, so your help will be appreciated.

Re: fuel/water separator

It does not matter which inlet and outlets arrows you match. Use the one that makes the best installation.

The filter removes water by gravity. You must have the filter on the "vacuum" side (upstream) of the primer bulb. IF the filter was downstream, you would pressurize the filter , pushing the water thru the filter, every time you primed the motor.

Yeah the other ports are to make your install easier.
