Opinion. When is the best time to replace the fuel water seperator after the fuel has sat over the winter. Before you start the engine fir the season or after you run it for a little bit?

Agree with TD - definately before you launch for the season. No telling what kind of crud and corruption might be in there.

I change the fuel/water filter and LU oil when I put the boat away for the winter.
I don't want any water to freeze in either unit.

I usually run mine for the first run of the season then change the fuel/water seperator. I always pour it out into a jar to see what's in there. Usually it's about a quarter full of water.
