I have not had any problems with this type set up on my boat.

mount between tank and bulb, also fill the container with premix, before installing, will really help the first priming.

It's been done on a million boats over many decades. Myself, I've used several different types on many outboards with premix since the early 80s.

I recommend the type with a drain-bowl at the bottom. Drain regularly as a routine matter for carefree boating. Change the filter itself every season or so. Make sure all water is drained from the filter before freeze up in the fall.
