Full power to Dull power

I just recently bought a 72 65hp evinrude I gotten the carbs overhauled not to long ago and the boat ran great for the longest time but last week I was on the lake like usual but when I push the throttle wide open it took awhile before it slowly got full power, then it just all the sudden gotten to were it would stop completely now what should be full throttle is like 1/4 power. i checked the filter its fine not sure, but im thinking its a fuel problem help would be greatly thankful.

Check to make sure that the throttle butterflys are opening exactly parallel (horizontal) at wide open throttle, and manualy check to see if they all close at the same time.<br /> You may want to check sparkplugs, or just install new ones if it hasn't been done sinse last summer, and my next thought is a clogged main jet. fuel line also deterierates from the inside too, you could have a restriction in the fuel line.......a few thoughts. :D

I noticed on your previous post you said shifting into gear was slugish and shifting out was just a slow. Did you check oil in lower unit and if not do it quick that will cause slow shift and a real drain of power if it is melting down the lower unit. Good luck
