Had a great time on the lake this weekend in WI.

Had the family out tubing and hanging out in the lake. Can't beat hanging out at the lake with nothing to do but enjoy the company of your family and the beauty of the sky/lake/trees/etc.

Hope all here had a great 4th as well.

-Linc

Re: Fun day on the lake (Pics)

Great pics! Got too busy and wasn't able to get on the lake - probably was pretty crowded anyway... Will hit it hard next week. My just turned teen kids have both just got up skiing for the first time and can't wait to be on the lake again. The lake water is very warm due to our recent weather as you probably found out. Yes, WI is great!!

Re: Fun day on the lake (Pics)

Was in Wausau WI on Monday and Tuesday of last week on business. Was flying in on a NorthWest twin prop and flew over some great bodies of water. My thoughts were "gee, I wish I had my boat here to try out some of these waters".

The Wisconsin hospitality was fantasitic and I can't wait to visit again. Thanks for your pics. I agree, can't beat hanging out on the lake.

Jeff - (Toronto Canada)

Thanks for the pics, we were on a small local lake but it was really crowded. That boat looks like brand new, you must have a lot of clean up/ restoration time involved!

Re: Fun day on the lake (Pics)

Thanks all. Rottenray6402, I actually got REALLY lucky on this one. The condition of the boat as you see it is basically how I purchased it. I have added a few things (radio/cd player, 12V plug, cup holders) but the hull and interior where in fantastic shape when I got it.

The story the marine place told, was that a young couple brought it in to sell. It was her grandfater's boat who had passed away 10 years earlier and the boat had been sitting covered up in his garage ever since.

I can't imagine selling this boat if it was in my family, but everyone's different I guess.

My wife and I think the grandfather must have really LOVED this boat. It had the name "POPPY'S GIRL" on the side. The vinyl, fiberglass, carpet, guages all looked like they had been babied.

It was sold as "would not stay running". I took it into a marina and they replaced the distributor cap, water pump, plugs/wires and it has run great now for 2 seasons.

Just got the new name put on it last week. The new name is taken from a sign that hung over my wife's grandparent's summer cottage.

CalicoKid -

We were in Twin Lakes WI on Lake Mary. We do most of our boating there. It is a small lake, very, very clear water (except on those busy 4th of July weekends with all the holiday boaters stirring things up :) ) We do most of our boating there.

We're looking at going to Silver Lake or Paddock Lake which aren't too far from Twin Lakes in the near future.
