I'm having my 1989 125 HP Force rebuilt and have a few questions that I'm hoping you guys can help with.

1) Wiseco or Mercury pistons? The Wisecos are less expensive, but only have a 30 day warranty compared to 1 year for Mercury.

2) What bearings should be replaced preventively? The mechanic says that all of my bearings look to be in great shape and replacing them could actually cause more wear.

3) He is only recommending boring out one cylinder 0.030", but just cleaning and honing the others. Is that okay to do?

Any other advice on the rebuild?

Thanks for your help.

Mercury pistons. Pay for the warranty...you may need it.

If the brgs are in good shape they should be fine. <---If the Tech says they are fine. He is the one that warranties it.

You can just oversize one cyl. This though is not something we practice at our shop..but..people do it and it seems to work fine.

TMD

If you are going to use the oem pistons have the mechanic order the older pistons that do not have a hedland ring or go with wiseco's. they are an execllent piston for your motor. thanks, bret

If you need further assistance please email me @ forcepower01@yahoo.com. thanks,Bret
