I'm not sure about anybody else but that 52/53 year old motor should look that good if its been in the crate the whole time, but.... Ive' never seen a 52/53 year old cardboard (original crate) box look so pristine. Thoughts?

It looks like a repro to me. The box looks too modern. On another note, I posted about a 77 EBKO that was listed on the Kansas City site for $775 that the guy didn't winterize. I offered him $300 for it before I left and he said he would call me if none of the other callers buy it. He called me right before the Super Bowl and I picked it up Monday. I found out that the marina that did the impeller drained the block and manifold before they gave it back to him. It looks like he overheated the motor and blew the head gasket. I am going to try a head gasket after I get the head back from the machine shop and see where I am at once the weather gets warmer. I may just get lucky on this one. I did win another engine on ebay for $130 that the guy says runs but weeps water near the carb. It looks like the manifold is bad.

That is one of the weirdest adds I have ever seen anywhere. There is some discussion about $2500, but I think he means $25K which might be a reasonable target, but $79K? And why is this a "classic"? Nice boat, but wow

Bid got as high as $6600....only missed by $72 500. Actually he dropped the 'buy it now' to $59K so $52 500 off the mark.

If that boat isn't water logged (AZ boat) It would make a great resto. At that size with good stringers and transom $2200 is a little steep but no far off. Of course unless you know the stringers and transom are good it's more like $1000 with running V-8 and outdrive.

I was thinking he must have held his finger down too long on the '2' key. I just turned down one like that for free with no trailer. I didn't figure it was worth the effort to bother with it. The last one of those I had I couldn't give away.
It can run like new but if it looks like crap it won't sell for much more than scrap prices. Putting a ton of cash into a 25 yr old Bayliner is rarely a good idea even if you got it cheap.

It amazing how some people out there live in a dream world. While it may be a nice boat and it may well be somewhat rare, I'd venture to guess that there were many more just like it made back in 1988.
If that were a 1950's Chis Craft I'd understand, but no way for a mass produced boat.

Awww, but the seller said this,

"Enjoy the Supper Bowel"

Sounds like a medical condition.

LOL! I thought the same thing when I read the auction.

The auction reads like the guy has more money than brains.

OR...an intelligent literary type who was making a punned statement on the poor dietary choices of American society during trite sporting events like the Super Bowl?.........naw, your probably right. :D

This is genius. This guy wants somebody to haul away his trash and then hand him cash?

I have a grady white that flipped off the trailer and has major damage. This boat needs somebody who is good at fiberglass repair. There is damage to the left front and the right rear as well as damage to the console. The lower part of the hull appears to be in good shape. There is no motor on the boat and no trailer but I do have a title. Call Gary at ***-***-****, thanks.

That Grady White was at one time one helluva a rig...and expensive. I'm not sure it's worth any fiberglass repair at this point but I'm sure some of the 'glass guys on this site could bring it back to form.:D

That just might sell for that. You just never know.

Here's one on the flip side, he wants a perfect boat for only $200. Probably less than scrap weight for the boat he's after.

Here's a good one, they didn't even bother to shovel the snow out of the boat to try to sell it. No doubt it's well taken care of. He wants to trade it for a car.
