Those telephone/power poles are only in the ground about 3 feet.

That is one tough pole to survive a hit with a truck and a boat and still stand!!

He was lucky it was a boat. A load of steel pipe would have been another matter.

I had my 16' Capri do that, just not as bad. I had to stop quick due to an idiot pulling out in front of me. The boat slid up the rollers enough to break off my transducer and pitot. The transom straps were tight. After that I hooked a chain from the rear of the tongue to the bow hook to keep it from sliding up the rollers.

Here is a recent one. Not sure if the transom straps would have helped or if the trailer tongue would have just folded up with this amount of force.

I blew the pic up on my computer, it gets a bit fuzzy but I think the rope is on the boat.
