I'm not at the boat today and wondered if someone could answer a quick question. Is a fuse box hot all the time (key on / key off)? If I turn the battery switch off, does this kill the power to the fuse box?

thanks in advance

When you turn the battery switch off everything should be dead but the wire to the bilge pump float switch. Can't answer the first question for sure. My guess is hot always. Can your nav lights work with the key off? I have had boats that had two fuse blocks. One always hot, one operated from the accessory position on the key switch.

We can't really give you an answer without being there to test it.

Very simple to check it.
Use a multimeter, 12 volt tester or a simple 12 volt test light to see when your fuse panel is hot, key on/off and battery switch on/off.

Thanks, when I'm able to get down to the boat I'll check
