The d series are 3 blade front and back. If I change my props I'm thinking about going with the i4 set which replaced the d series and has a 4 blade and a 3 blade. Thinner aluminum from what I've read but better performing. I have to research some more before sinking the $750 on a set.

With the 5.0 gI it shot up quickly. I expected a bit of a lag with the carb no instead of the tbi. The boat feels stronger though. It just takes a while to get the rpms. I bump the throttle up a little and the rpms climb slow and steady. It can be 10 to 15 seconds before the revs peak and stop increasing. Like I said... the best way to describe it is starting a manual transmission up a hill in 3rd gear. We'll see. I'll know in a week or two if I'm going to drop down a size.

I guess I am running I4's I was wondering why I had a forward 4 blade and an aft 3 blade. I did notice she got up on plane quicker. Now I am really excited as to how it will run with the new motor.

Boat is finished. Mechanic sea trialed it WOT was 4560. Motor is rated to be 4400 to 4600 rpm's. So I guess I am OK. Picking her up on Monday to run her home. Interesting the motor take 6 quarts of oil. Not 5 like a auto engine. Also recommends using Rotella 15w 40. Says motor is starting right up runs smooth and cool with 160 degree t stat. Hopefully a new beginning.

Picked her up today. What a difference running 3500 rpm's doing 25.6 mph burning 12 gph. Have not played with the trim as of yet. Just happy with the way it's running.
