Hello Gang, glad to be aboard this vessel you call iboats. Have visited many times before. I have a Gamefisher 3 hp engine given to me. It runs like a champ when on the bench, but as soon as it's put on the boat and put in drive it bogs out. I took the carb apart and cleaned everything up as good as i can with carb cleaner, and it didn't look all that bad.I know you will need more info as far as numbers and I will get them in the morning, just wonder if anybody has run across this before. What is the model number of your Gamefisher? There were two different ones, made by two different manufacturer, and they're completely different.

Look around on the outside of the outboard, near the transom mount, for a tag that has the model number on it. From there, we may be able to help.

Hogan--- I know nothing---nothing!
Usually your symtoms indicate a lean condition dirty carb is the most common
cause. Be sure all passages and jets are clear.Float set right.See if the choke helps.If its on a remote tank see if squeezing the primer bulb helps.

Thanks for the reply guys. Yep steele, Hogans Heroes..one of the better shows. I got the model number 298-585190. Automatic drive Gamefisher 3.0. It has a RCJ8 Champion spark plug in it, don't know if it's correct. Says made in Japan on the top also i seen. Thanks guys.

Thats a Tanaka TOB 300.I believe no longer made.There are some sites with parts.There is a jet needle that is withdrawn from the seat as the throttle opens.position can be changed to adjust mixture.Clip in second notch from top for TOB 300.

Actually, Sears has most parts for that outboard. Go to www.searspartsdirect.com, and enter your model number where indicated. You'll see exploded views of the outboard, with a parts list and order form.
