Hi all,
I have a gamefisher/eska 9.9 that I put a new fuel element and gasket on and still dies out. I can watch the gas fade out of the filter yet when not running it is not seeping back and holds pressure. I can't find any leaks with carb clean that are letting air in, what's next? reed problems, compression after a few pulls is at 100psi and equal. need some help here. Motors an 85 if I remember right, cleaned the carb, used tourch cleaners on the jets any help will be a plus. Dana

Re: gamefisher 9.9

Is "fuel element" the pump diaphram or a filter? If squeezing the primer bulb helps it usually indicates a weak fuel pump.
Be sure the crankcase pressure line to the pump is clear and tight.
Fuel line connectors and fittings are good.It is possible to suck air and not leak gas.Is the tank vent open and working. Is the filter in the tank clear?

The fuel element on these is a small rubber tube in the back of the carb, not sure how it works without a check valve somewhere? If i had lower compression, I would think that it just wasn't running the pump like it should. Thanks for the come back! Dana
