I have a 15 HP gamefisher motor that is a 1989. I just got my tank and fuel line all together and took it out to test. I had a hard time starting it, and there was gas all over the water and i hadnt even primed it yet. once i got it started, it wouldnt idle all the way down, and when i was cruising around the lake, it was acting like it couldnt get enough gas because it seemed like it was running out. I think it may be getting to much/to little gas, but how would i go about adjusting that on the carb? Thanks alot

Re: Gamefisher gas problems

Need a model number.a number of companies built those motors.Probably a Force, but ??Won't idle? you mean it stalls or won't slow down.
Does squeezing the primer bulb help?Is the tank vent open and clear?
More than likely it has sat around a lot and you will need to go through the fuel system from tank to carb with attention to cleaning.

225. 581501 is the model number. I made sure that the vent was open, and also tried squeezing the primer bulb, but it was still rock hard when it stalled. The line seems to be keeping good pressure. I did notice a lot of gas on the water (more than usual) and thought maybe it was getting to much gas. It wont idle, and when i slow down too fast it stalls as well.
