Gamefisher Year and fuel problems

First I would like to find out what year this is. It says its a Gamefisher 5.0 Positive Shift Drive. Model #217-586611, S/N 48-003797. Engine has tag that says Tecumseh 643-35a 4101. It will idle fine but die on mid and high speed when in gear. I have replaced the fuel pump element and cleaned the carb multiple times. Also adjusted the float. I think it is starving for fuel because as it is starting to stall I squirt a fuel in it and then it will continue to run. It has great spark and 100 lbs compression.
