Hello all,
I just picked up new plugs for my 69 johnson 100 hp. In my manual it calls for surface cap plugs. When I went to buy the new plugs the guy there told me not to use those, but try champion QL_____? Forget the actually number but know it starts with ql for quite running. So my question is what do I gap these at? Doesn't say in my manual. Thanks

Re: Gapping spark plugs

If they are ql77jc4, most, and I repeat most are gapped at 0.30, but I would suggest a manual to be sure.

Re: Gapping spark plugs

The Q incidentally indicates that they are low resistance, inductively suppressed plugs.

The reasons for using low resistance inductive suppression are discussed HERE
