When bought my boat last year it came with a Garmin 168Sounder. All summer I played with it and it appeared that the base map was out of position. I'm on the Canadian side of the St. Lawrence River and it positions the curser/arrow about 1/4 mile too far south. As when I'm docked on the US shoreline it shows the boat about 1/4 mile inland. I've contacted Garmin and they don't have an answer.

Any help would be greatful.

Thanks

Re: Garmin 168Sounder

Sounds like your running the wrong datum for the maps on the unit. The default for most Garmin maps is WGS 84

That's the data I'm using. I'm hoping someone here has the same unit and might have some insight.

I'm using a 162 as back-up. No problems here.

What map are you using?
