Garmin 498

Has anyone else had this problem with their Garmin 498, when I try to update the software it goes to 17% and then to a screen that reads ?LOADING SOFTWARE?..it never completes, I have to turn the unit off & on. I called Garmin but I feel I?m getting the round-a-round.

Waht version are you trying to load? How long are you waiting for it to load? I've seen them take 5 mintues before.

Are you sure about your SD card? Have to tried reburning the update to the card?

I waited over thirty minutes onetime, I left unit on came back nothing. The last thing from Garmin was that they sent me a card with the update, it did the same thing.

The other day I decided to do a google search on my same problem and I found on a forum someone reporting the same problem...I sent Garmin the link with hope that they can realize this a known problem, because their support-staff were telling that they never-heard of this problem?jet they were able to help the person having the problem on the link I sent them. Now, this is the reply I got ?I looked briefly at the posts at the link you provided. I am not allotted enough time to read every post?
