Common problem........ they are not the toughest boat part.

Many people here use a visual approach and LOOK into the tank.

Mollers are JUNK. I had 2 rejects shipped to me. Called the company. Was going to send another one. Got my money back& shipping costs. Terrible quality. Close the cap & it becomes a ballon in the sun or a caved in dorky in a cool morning. Found a steel tank.

Happy as can be. :):):)

If your tank is expanding and contracting, you must not have the vent open or the vent is plugged. A vented tank cannot expand or contract.

I rarely trust boat gas gauges, and for portable outboard tanks, those are pretty much worthless from the start. Too small of a tank and no baffles. The only thing the gauge is good for is telling you that there is SOME fuel left in it, as 1 inch of fuel covering the bottom could still read full, depending on how it is sloshing...

You can buy a new cap but why bother. A quick look should let you know how much gas is left. The only way that guage might be right is if the tank is on a level surface... pretty hard to do in a boat.

In the old days most boats didn't have a gas gauge even some of the expensive ones.We used a clean dry
stick like a yard stick. Just stick it in the tank and note the level.

Check here. If product #621004-10 is what you need, you can get it right here on iboats.

Best bet is to know how much fuel you burn averaged per hour or distance. My boat gets a consistent 5 mpg run rate on a 23 gallon tank and I always start out with a full tank. I know I can run 35 miles out and 35 miles back and still have enough for those oh shinola moments.
