Gas in crankcase?

I have a 15 hp Johnson, 1996 model.

This as happened before and I thought I may have fixed it , but not.

GAs in getting into the crank case. When I pulled the dip stick a gas/oil mix
shot out like a fountain.

I pulled the fuel pump and it looked good. I did this after the first time this happened.

How can gas get into the crank case? Should I just buy a new fuel pump or is it
something else, Im stumped!

Obviously this is a 4 stroke model? What is the serial #?

Yes it is a 4 stroke. Not sure what the serial # has to do with my problem,
but its 04197674.

carb or fuel pump on a 4 stroke is the only entrance to the crankcase I can envision

Hi Sutor, the model number is J15FRLEU.

I can see how fuel can get in the crank case due to a faulty fuel pump (torn diaphragm) , but if its getting from the
carb side I'm stumped on the fix for that!

There was alot of fuel in the crank case, I mean when I pulled the dip stick it had built up alot of pressure.
I had to get alot of rags!

Thanks!
