I keep getting gas in my fuel tank every time it rains. Last night it rained and I pumped out approx. 3 gallons of water. All of the connections are tight and there appears to be no fuel leaking anywhere. I tried hosing the boat down in diff. areas to see if I could pin point the problem but had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Joshua

Don't you mean water in your fuel tank?

Where is the fuel tank vent? Where is the filler cap?

Is the vent facing up?

Yes I mean water in my fuel tank, sorry. The vent is on the right side, I intially thought this was my problem b/c the ball that goes in it to keep water from flowing back in was missing so I replaced that but I am still getting water in the tank which leads me to believe it is from rain. The filler cap located on the top the right side wall. A little more info about the boat is it is a 25' 1988 Chris Craft Sea Hawk with 115 gallon gas tank.

As an experiment, you could tightly seal up (a piece of plactic and duct tape) first the air vent and then your gas cap area for the sake of finding the leak. If you are tired of waiting for an answer (rain), you could help things along with a garden hose. Also, could your tank be cracked or could you have some really loose hose connections? Once the problem is solved, you may want to add a water separator filter, if you do not already have one.

If you're buying gas at the same place all the time maybe you're getting bad gas.
