Gas leak

I have a 1964 evinrude 60hp that was given to me it was my brothers who had it sitting in his garage for years when I got it I hooked it up and got it started everything seemed to be going good tell I noticed gas coming from the bottom of the motor down by the propellor ,I have looked at the carb fuel pump and hoses and I can't see anything leaking from the top of the engine. any ideas Rex :confused:

RexRacer<br />Check the pressure drive line to the fuel pump.<br />Should be dry, take it loose and squeeze the fuel bulb,if you get gas, the diaphram is broken. May not be able to get a rebuild kit (?) and have to buy a pump. You will get a lot of oil/gas sludge that runs out of the exhaust if you are running on a hose. A stuck needle valve will flood the engine. Will the bulb pump up tight and hold the pressure? <br />Backfire ;)

Thanks backfire I checked out the fuelpump it checked out ok so I just happened to have an extra carb I put that on it did the trick it looks like it was a stuck needle valve. RexRacer :)
