There was one up here for a while....kids would hang out at intersections, rush out when traffic stopped for the red, and squeegee your windshield....then out goes the hand.
It got sufficiently invasive that the government banned it.

When it comes to things like this, I listened to Nancy Regan and I just say "NO!" Heck the town I live in, actually just past an ordinance that prohibits panhandling, we are very serious about scam artists here in Montana!

Last xmas my kindhearted wife was approached at a gas station near the interstate by a guy with his family begging for enough money to buy some gas to get back home about 20 miles away....Wife put 10bucks on her gas card into his gas tank. I dont think that is exactly what he had in mind but every little bit helps...I told her not to do that again that it was most likely a scam. She is a very kind person.

Been approached when driving in Michigan a few times. Most of them didn't appear to have a car in sight. Therefore the answer was no !!!

Once last year I stopped for gas and the card reader wasn't working. I went inside and prepaid. When I came outside a man followed me. When he saw me start to pump gas into my 20 year old Pathfinder he turned towards a man pumping gas into a new F150.

I don't ever seem to be approached even though I sometimes see them trying to scam others. Since I usually go to town shopping while working around the property my wife claims it is because she has seen homeless people dressed better than me.

I just can't seem to be able to throw away clothing that is 90 percent unflawed.

If you wear it right, 2 layers of 50% clothing, covers most of the important stuff.

yeah when I was stopping to fill up my V10 dually thye seemed to stop by. Guess they figured I didn't mind buying gas for the truck so I would be kind to them......nope.

only beggar I've ever given to said "I'll be honest I just want money to buy a beer" I went in and bought him a six pack.

If you aren't careful, you'll have people offering you vouchers for the shelter.
