GAS ODOR

I HAVE A 1990 MARINER, O/B, IT STARTS FINE AFTER I GET GOING AND SLOW DOWN, I GET AN ODOR OF GAS,COULD IT BE RUNNING TOO LEAN OR WHAT IS THE CAUSE, AND HOW CAN IT BE CORRECTED

Sounds like you may have a carb loading up. Also, many boats have a kinda backdraft that blows exhaust fumes into the boat from the rear. If you never smelled fumes in the past, you probably do have a fuel leak. Pump up the bulb extra hard and see if you can get some gas to blow out of the carb. This will see if your floats are working properly. Inspect all of the gas lines from the bulb to the carb, while you are pumping the bulb. If no gas can be forced out, then you need to move to the gas tank, and check for leaks all the way to the bulb. :D
