Gas/Oil for '98 Johnson 150

Hello. I recently purchased a boat with a 1998 Johnson 150. What gas octane level should I use for boat motors (does it matter)? Also, do I mix the oil directly to the gas or is there a separate place on the engine to add oil?

JOHNSON RECOMENDS 87 OCTANE WHICH IS WHAT I USE, JUST TRY TO KEEP IT A QUALITY BRAND AND USE THE QUALITY OIL IN YOUR MOTOR I WOULD RECOMEND THE RAM OIL IT IS A SEMI SYNTHTIC AND DOE'S A GREAT JOB. YOUR MOTOR SHOULD BE OIL INJECTED UNLESS IT WAS DISCONNECTED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER ,THERE SHOULD BE A BOTTLE MOUNTED IN THE BOAT . IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT THIS I WOULD CALL THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND FIND OUT SOME INFO BEFORE I RAN THE BOAT .

I agree with captblacksmarine about using a quality brand oil. Ram oil will work great. <br />I will change the wording on the fuel a bit. Johnson recommends MINIMUM 87 octane fuel. I would recommend running a higher rating if your fuel spends any time sitting without use as the octane rating can go down. Stay with a name brand fuel, and stay away from alcohol blends if you can.
