What happen if your motor reccommended ratio is 50:1 and let say you have been inadvertently running with 100:1 for the last couple of years?

Was your motor on of the '80's motors that were originally spec'd for 100:1 ?
I'd say if you ran it frequently enough, and used decent quality oil, that you did no damage to it. The problem (as I understand it) was that there was not enough oil at 100:1 to provide a lasting oil film on the internal crankcase parts when stored for longer periods of time, and sometimes components rusted.

If it's still running well then you lucked out !!! Change to the correct mixture and enjoy the motor.

To answer all questions so far except mine. It's a late 90's Mercury, been using mostly Quicksilver but have been using Penzoil as of late because the Quicksilver gotten expensive, ran at least once a week April-October, no real workout or anything but did get WOT from time to time. I don't think either one of the oil is synthetic and the motor is still running strong.

If the compression is good, I wouldn't worry about it. I would, however, switch to a 50:1 ratio.
